Everything is set for the stars to shine at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas next Tuesday, July 16, with the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game, where Mexican Power will have two representatives: Jarren Duran and Isaac Paredes.
Both Mexican players were named to the American League reserves list and will aim to make an impact for the team, which was led in voting by slugger Aaron Judge.
Both Duran and Paredes have had impressive first halves of the regular season with the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, respectively, thrilling fans with stellar defensive plays and solid offensive contributions.
JARREN DURAN’S STATS WITH RED SOX
After 88 games with Boston, Jarren Duran boasts a .278 batting average with 10 home runs, 21 stolen bases, and an .817 OPS in 370 official at-bats, primarily playing left field.
Duran will make his first appearance in a Major League All-Star Game, having been selected to the Futures Game in 2019 while with the Portland Sea Dogs in the Minor Leagues.
ISAAC PAREDES’ STATS WITH RAYS
Meanwhile, Isaac Paredes has appeared in 85 games, batting .266 with 14 home runs, 47 RBIs, and an .820 OPS in 312 at-bats, handling duties at third base.
Like Duran, this marks Paredes’ first selection to the Midsummer Classic. He also has previous experience in similar events, having been part of the Futures Game roster in 2019 while playing for the Erie SeaWolves.
