The GM of the Chicago White Sox, Chris Getz, was honest in his words mentioning that he is considering trading two of their stars in the roster (Eloy Jiménez and Dylan Cease).
On Tuesday, Getz said: “There no doubt that we a talented group of players. However I don’t like my team, the players have the talent but aren’t excuting well and we want a winning team. We need to find other players that can come here and guide us to the good way. And if that means that we need to get rid of some guys in order to add more pieces in our roster, we will do it”
Dylan Cease and Eloy Jiménez were mentioned by the GM as two candidates to be traded: “Obviously, Dylan is an established pitcher in the MLB and Eloy has a power in his bat that any team will want in its roster. We are still considering this movements”.
Cease had the highest era of his career since 2019. However he is at fourth place in K/9 between the starting pitchers since 2021.
On the other hand, Jiménez was part of 120 games last season (his record since the 2019 rookie season). He had an OPS of .758, 18 HR and 64 RBI, spending most of the time as a designated hitter.
However, there is an anonymous source that says that the only player that can’t be touch is Luis Robert JR. that finished at fifth place is the race to become the MVP of the American League.
