The Colorado Rockies acquired the right-handed pitcher, Cal Quantrill, from the Cleveland Guardians for a catcher of the minor leagues Kody Huff.
Earlier in the week, the Guardians designated Quantrill for assignment.
Fortunately for the Guardians, they found a spot for Quantrill in the Colorado Rockies, despite coming from the worst year of his career with a 5.24 ERA and 1.47 WHIP.
The best year in the career of Quantrill was in 2021 where he had an ERA of 2.89 and 121 strikeouts in 149.2 innings.
In his five years in the MLB, Quantrill has had good numbers: 3.83 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 427 K and a winning record of 35-23.
On the other hand. let’s talk about Kody Huff. The catcher was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies. Huff has .265 as batting average and 36 RBI in 86 games
The Colorado Rockies are hopeful that Quantrll returns to his best version.
