Aaron Nola shined on the pitcher’s mound this Thursday afternoon, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park.

The 31-year-old right-handed pitcher delivered one of his most dominant performances of the season, pitching 6.0 innings where he allowed four hits, conceded one run, issued two walks, and struck out nine opponents.

The nine strikeouts from Aaron Nola

  1. Will Smith (1st inning)
  2. James Outman (2nd inning)

The lone run against Nola came in the top of the fifth inning, courtesy of Gavin Lux, who blasted a four-seam fastball over the left-field fence for his third home run of the campaign.

After this standout performance, which served as his final start before the All-Star break, Aaron Nola improved his record to 11-4 with a 3.38 ERA, tallying 119.2 innings pitched, 116 strikeouts, and a 1.03 WHIP over 19 starts.
