New York Yankees superstar outfielder Aaron Judge brushed off criticism from his personal batting coach regarding the team’s recent performance.

Richard Schenck, Judge’s instructor, responded on social media via YES Network after highlighting statistics of the 2022 American League MVP in Yankees wins.

“They have lost 13 of 18 while he’s hitting like an MVP (.) The offensive player development of the Yankees is terrible,” Schenck wrote on Thursday on X.

In response, Aaron Judge stated, “To be honest, it doesn’t involve me. It’s someone else making a comment. I’m not going to comment for another person… I have no control over what someone else does. It’s out of my hands. I got nothing for you,” Judge said on Friday, per MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch.

Judge mentioned he wasn’t aware of his coach’s post until before the Friday match versus the Boston Red Sox, and Yankees manager Aaron Boone also downplayed Schenck’s remarks.

“People are going to say things, and certainly, everyone’s entitled to their opinion,” Boone said, according to Hoch. “Especially when you go through a tough stretch and wear this uniform, I know people are going to take shots and things like that.”

The New York Yankees’ 5-15 record in their last 20 games has left them trailing the Baltimore Orioles in the race for first place in the American League East. Despite the team’s struggles, Judge leads in all offensive statistics except walks, a category dominated by Juan Soto.

Aaron Judge’s stats: 88 games, 68 runs scored, 98 hits, 23 doubles, 32 home runs, 83 RBIs, 63 walks, 96 strikeouts, .310 AVG, and 1.123 OPS.
