The Philadelphia Phillies have claimed the venezuelan player from waivers, Diego Castillo (who was designated for assignment by the New York Yankees) .
This offseason, Castillo has bounced around four different teams. Initially designated for assignment by the Arizona Diamondbacks, he was claimed by the New York Mets that removed him from their roster just days after acquiring him.
The New York Yankees brought him back, as he was originally signed by the team and ranked as a prospect before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Once again, his stint with the Yankees came to an end, but now he’s heading straight to Philadelphia to play for the Phillies, that will provide him with the opportunity to prove himself in spring training.
Castillo, 26 years old, 5’10” high and weighing 185 pounds, was once considered a top prospect for the Yankees. However, in the last two seasons, he has been splitting his time between the Minor Leagues and the Major Leagues.
