The New York Yankees have placed Clarke Schmidt in the 15-day injured-list after the starting pitcher suffered a strain in his right arm. In his place, Cody Morris was promoted from the Triple-A.

News have arrived before the last game of the series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night. The New York Yankees won the second match after losing the first one 4-3.

Clarke Schmidt will not throw for 4-6 weeks, Aaron Boone said. “It’s going to be a while.” He had an MRI yesterday and saw Dr. Neal ElAttrache today in Los Angeles. Cody Poteet will start on Saturday.

In 11 appearances on the mound, Schmidt has registered: 67 K, 2.52 ERA, and 1.14 WHIP obtaining 60.2 innings thrown with a positive record of 5-3.

With Clarke Schmidt´s help, the New York Yankees have the best ERA in the majors with 2.76 at the beginning of the season. They have achieved this without the best pitcher in the roster (Gerrit Cole) which hasn’t played this season because of an elbow injury.
