José Miranda went 5 for 5 with three doubles, scoring four runs and driving in three to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 12-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers in a game shortened to seven innings due to rain.
Since June 20th, Miranda has been batting .432 with 6 doubles, 15 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.117.
Miranda’s five hits in the game marked a career high. Reflecting on his performance, Miranda told reporters, “As a team, we’ve clicked. Everyone is hitting really well and having good at-bats. There’s not a single batter in the lineup that you can say is easy to face, and that’s great for us.”
The Minnesota Twins have won six of their last seven series and currently sit in second place in the American League Central division, six games behind the Cleveland Guardians.
Following the team’s recent success, manager Rocco Baldelli commented, “We should never settle for what we’ve achieved; in this sport, everything can change overnight. However, the consistency we’ve shown both offensively and defensively is a positive sign for the team, and we need to keep it up.”
Next up for the Minnesota Twins is a three-game series against the Houston Astros starting this Friday, as they look to extend their series-winning streak.
