With two years under the Cleveland Indians and a very strong 2020 season, Mike Clevinger has been one of the most interesting pitchers in the MLB during this trade deadline.
According to multiple sources in the MLB, the Indians are willing to let Clevinger go at a very outrageous price.
With 2.97 ERA and 10.22 KK in 470 1/3 innings since his debut in 2017 with Cleveland and a 4 million contract undergoing, Clevinger is one of the most attractive assets for a trade this season.
Sources said Yankees could be the team that could acquire Clevinger, and they're even looking for a blockbuster trade that includes Francisco Lindor in the deal. This could be huge for the Yankees or any other team, but the Indians are aware of their talent, are the price the team is putting for pulling this deal is off the charts.
Even when there's no real price for the deal, John Heyman has told that Indians are asking for a crazy amount of money, which could be translated into a young MLB superstar for any team who wants Clevinger, and by a superstar we're talking about a Gleyber Torres or Andujar in the mix if you want to acquire his star pitcher.Clevinger is definitely being talked about in trade scenarios. Indians are known to listen on everyone and some see winter trade as more likely. Price said to be “ridiculous.” But it should be. Talented (141 ERA plus), young (29) and not a free agent for multiple more years.
