In his Major League debut, Rece Hinds hit a home run and a double to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies in Monday’s game.

Hinds was called up from Triple-A Louisville earlier that morning. During his time in Louisville, Hinds had a batting average of .216 with 13 home runs.

Hinds was retired in his first at-bat by a great defensive play from Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, who made a diving catch. However, in the fifth inning, Hinds secured his first MLB hit with a double, and later in the eighth inning, he launched a 449-foot home run off Tyler Kinley. Additionally, Hinds made a spectacular catch in right field.

Meanwhile, Andrew Abbott delivered an outstanding performance on the mound, allowing only three hits over seven innings and playing a key role in shutting down the Rockies’ offense.

With this win, the Cincinnati Reds moved to within four and a half games of the final wild card spot currently held by the San Diego Padres.
