Jazz Chisholm Jr., recently acquired by the New York Yankees in a trade from the Miami Marlins, finally made his debut with the team in the last game of the series against their arch-rivals, the Boston Red Sox, at none other than Fenway Park

Chisholm Jr. arrived at Fenway Park just 90 minutes before the game started and was immediately placed in center field and slotted fifth in the lineup. However, in his first four at-bats, he was handled with ease, with the following sequence:
Chisholm Jr. finally got his first hit as a Yankee in the top of the ninth inning with no runners on and no outs. He hit an infield single, using his speed to beat the throw from second baseman Rommy González, who had already retired him three times earlier in the game.

After that hit, Chisholm Jr. advanced to second base on a groundout by Venezuelan Gleyber Torres. At that moment, Chisholm Jr. caused a scare for the Yankees when he took a hard fall while rounding second base. Despite expressing discomfort and receiving attention from the Yankees’ medical staff, he decided to stay in the game.

Less than 50 seconds later, he stole third base, marking his first stolen base in a Yankees uniform and the only one in the game. To cap off his eventful inning, Chisholm Jr. scored the Yankees‘ eighth run, executing a successful tag-up from third base on a fly ball hit by DJ LeMahieu.
