The third baseman for the Boston Red Sox, Rafael Devers, continues to be on fire after hitting a home run for a fifth consecutive game, dominating the pitchers of the St. Louis Cardinals and Tampa Bay Rays.
In the latest game of the series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals, Rafael Devers smashed a two-run home run 402 feet into center field at Busch Stadium, marking his ninth of the season and fifth in a row over five games.
With those five home runs, Rafael Devers becomes the seventh player in Boston Red Sox history to homer in 5 consecutive games and the first to do so since Bobby Dalbec in 2020, whom Devers would surpass if he hits a homer in his next game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Devers has become the seventh player in franchise history to achieve this, joining Jimmie Foxx (1940), Ted Williams (1957), Dick Stuart (1963), George Scott (1977), José Canseco (1995), and Bobby Dalbec (2020).

The all-time record stands at eight consecutive games with a home run, held by Dale Long (1956), Don Mattingly (1987) and Ken Griffey Jr. (1993). The last time in which a player was close to tie the record was when Mike Trout hit home run for seven consecutive games in 2022.
Rafael Devers has a batting average of 285/.384/.555 with 9 home runs, 21 RBIs, and 22 runs scored despite starting the season with a shoulder issue, but quietly he has been regaining his form, placing himself among the top 10 in the American League in OBP, SLUG, and OPS.
