The Pittsburgh Pirates and Martín Pérez have reached an agreement of 8 million dollars for one year; sources told Jason Mackey from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
This last two seasons, Pérez has played with the Texas Rangers and his good performances gave him the opportunity to be part of the 2022 All-Star team in the American League. During this season, the left-handed had a record of 12-8 with an ERA of 2.89 and 163 K in 196 1/3 innings.
After beginning the 2023 season as a starting pitcher, he finished the season as a bullpen pitcher and was a key player to help the team to win the World Series.
With Perez”s arrival. the Pirates rotation looks like this: Mitch Keller, Marco Gonzales, Luis L. Ortiz and Bailey Falter.
