The San Diego Padres have let the San Francisco Giants to interview Bob Melvin for their manager role.
Melvin has gain votes within the office of the San Francisco Giants and has become the favorite option to replace Gabe Kepler.
Bob Melvin has been the manager of the San Diego Padres for the last two seasons. During his time at the franchise, he hasn’t had the results that the fans expect. It’s true that the first season with the Padres was amazing because they qualify to the NLCS. However and despite of investing a lot of money in free agency for new signings, they didn’t qualify this year for the postseason.

Before San Diego, Melvin passed 11 years in the Oakland Athletics.
Mevin has won plenty of awards (the most important is being named Manager of the Year in three times).
For the moment, Melvin has an active contract with the Padres. However, different reports say that the relation between him and the president of the baseball operations is not best one.
AJ Preller argues that this isn´t true with the next statement:
“There have been multiple reports about our relationship. The reality is that we speak 4 or 5 times in a day. Is a relationship. I don’t pay attention to stories that are out of context”
